Hey people, ensure that you have the 3 scores: Machu Picchu, National Anthem, Made In Singapore and Tales of the Sea. Do practise your instrument during this one week break. And also, memorise your National Anthem!

I guess you guys had a great party and photo-taking today huh? ;)

Not to forget, let's welcome Ms Tan and Mr Neo to our band! You guys are going to have a great time with us, hahaha.

See you around.

PS/ Will upload the pictures taken today once I've gathered them :)

ONE more day to the performance at the Esplanade!

Remember what we have learnt from the workshop today? ( Beehive, ball, colour. ) Use it!

I'm sure most, if not all of you guys are excited for tomorrow. I am too!

Nevertheless, despite your surroundings, do not get distracted! Still, we need to look at Mr Lim, and respond to him! Also, be careful of your intonation. Listen out for each other. Don't just charge and go your way! Be alert, and spontaneous! Put whatever you've learnt to application.

Think about you would like to portray your music for the audience?

Always remember the FOUR factors!

we should,
we must,
we can,
and we WILLLLLLLL!

Glorify the music, not yourself.
Bring your music to a higher level.

All the best RWS!

PS/ Ms Tan we love you to bits and pieces hehe.

TWO more days to performances at the esplanade!
In fact you don't even have 48 hours.

It had been fun learning about the inversion of the chords that Mr Lim had taught today. Although it's kinda hard to understand for some of us but if we managed to learn it fast, the faster our band will improve. The difference between a good and a not so good band is how fast they absorb from the conductor. Bringing yourself to a higher level of playing. It is best to clarify yourself if you have any doubts. You can only learn if you ask.

In fact this can be apply to the INTONATION. How fast you can achieve can determine how good is your playing. So people let's do our best and practice harder with your tuner. Don't take things for granted. As i realized that today, people bringing instrument home had greatly decreased.

Remember we are the GOLD band for that 15 minutes of performance only. The moment we step out of the stage, we are no longer the band we are we were on the stage. Thus, don't hold on to the title of that moment. Let's learn from this experience and make the next performance a better one. Let's be a responsible player alright?!

ESPLANADE HERE WE COME!!!

Remember the 4 factors?

* WE SHOULD

* WE MUST

* WE CAN

* WE WILL!

Go go go RWS! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR HECTOR TAN! :DD

May you have a blessed year ahead!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11:03 PM with
Congratulations on the Gold with 90.71%, RWS.

But yes, the score is only for the 15 minutes of performance on stage. Do remember what Mr Lim has said!

Let's continue to work hard, together! There is still a long way to go. Let's not stop here and start being complacent or whatsoever. Instead, take this achievement as a source of motivation for us to work even harder.

Thank you Mr Lim, Ms Loh, Teachers, Alumni for your patience with all of us. It's a big thank you from us to you guys!

Way to go, Regent Wind Symphony!

Strive harder!

Monday, July 14, 2008 at 5:42 PM with
9 more days to SIBF!

People, do encourage one another through this period yeah? It sure is going to be pretty buzzy with the competition coming along.

Also, let's all also work together! Some of you may have been trying, but we can't have only a few people working. We would also need the whole band's effort, then we will be about to see the results. :)

Some quotes to share with you all.

1) Success and failure are the same choice; only attitude determines the difference."
2) Hard work is a investment. The more you invest in terms of hard work, more is the profit you earn in terms of success."
3) To motivate is to take a broken state of mind and mend it with a winning attitude."

Encourage, motivate, help out one another!

It is going to be tiring this week till the competition, do take good care of yourselves :)

Respond to Mr Lim! Don't just play through the whole piece.

Stay focus, be spontaneous, and anticipate what's coming!

GAMBATTE!
